REGISTRY FOR GLOBAL STANDARDS
  • Registry is a listing of programs/institutions which meet or exceed the Global Standards.
  • Entries in the Registry are valid for three (3) years, commencing in the fall, after which the program/institution must submit a current Self Assessment Registration Form to maintain continued listing in the Registry.
  • Registry will appear in the fall issue of the Journal of ICHPER·SD.

ELIGIBILITY FOR LISTING IN REGISTRY

  • Program/institution is an organizational member of ICHPER·SD, and maintains membership for the duration of the listing.
  • Program meets all required accreditation standards of the respective state/country/nation.
  • Program meets or exceeds the standard of content of the ICHPER·SD Global Standards for Professional Preparation of Physical Educators, and at the specified standard of achievement.

A student completing a 4-year degree/licensure program must have a minimum of 30 clock hours of instruction in each of the nine areas of disciplinary knowledge (1.1 through 1.9); 60 clock hours in professional knowledge and skills, including instruction in all eight sub areas (2.1 through 2.8); and 60 clock hours in pedagogical knowledge and skills, including instruction in all six sub areas (3.1 through 3.6).

Students completing a licensure program mandated to be shorter in duration must meet each standard of content, regardless of the modification made to the related standard of achievement for the program/institution to be listed in the Registry.

Content area(s) may be integrated/infused; nevertheless, the minimum number of clock hours for standard of content must be met.

ASSESSMENT AND REPORTING FOR REGISTRY
  • Registry listing is based on self assessment and self reporting.
  • Participating program/institution must complete a registration form, including signatures of the program leader and the academic dean (or equivalent) of the institution. Registration form must be accompanied by the self assessment.
  • For listing in the Registry (fall issue of the Journal of ICHPER•SD) the completed registration form and self assessment must be received by July 1.

VALIDATION OF REGISTRANTS
